$20/h starting wage
A Flexible Schedule. This means that if you only want one shift a week, that’s fine. If you have a standing commitment on Thursdays, that’s fine. We want the schedule to work with your life.
Fair Pay. Our starting wage is $20 per hour. Over time, you'll get more efficient and finish the same job in less time. On a strictly hourly rate, you'd make less, which is a bummer. We have a fair-pay policy so that you still get paid the same, even if you finish early.
Top-Tier Training. We have a cleaning process that outshines other companies. After learning from us, you'll truly be the best at what you do - our clients have told us so!
Quality: Our team has provided our clients with unmatched quality for years. We expect you to hold yourself to a super high level of quality.
Dependability: If you are scheduled, we expect you to show up, ready for work.
Trust: We want you to treat each client and their home with respect. We expect you to guard client information and avoid talking about clients or even naming clients outside of work to protect their privacy and homes.
We hold ourselves and our team to a high standard. Our hiring process is a bit longer than many places because we want to be sure you’ll be a good fit.

Background Check: We’ll send you information to complete a background check.
Ride Along: We’ll invite you to ride-along on a service call so you can evaluate if this is what you’re looking for, and so that we can evaluate if you’ll meet our expectations.
Interview: We’ll have another discussion to work out where you might fit best.

I started Tidy Elf Cleaning because I needed something different. I was caring for a grandparent and my former job as a hotel manager wasn’t flexible enough. I started cleaning for neighbours and I realized how much of an impact I had.
The grandma down the road had more energy and time for her grandkids.
The couple across town didn’t need to spend Saturday cleaning up after a full week of work.
The busy mom could get errands done and come home to a clean home.
It felt so much more rewarding than checking an endless stream of guests in each day. I love what I do, and I know there are other people who want more flexibility and meaning in their lives.

Do I need supplies?
We supply all the cleaning supplies, from toilet bowl cleaner to cloths, to scrapers, squeegees and laundry soap.
Do I need a car?
Yes, you’ll need reliable, independent transportation.
Do you pay for fuel?
The bank across town wouldn’t pay for fuel, and neither do we. We do our best to ensure that you get homes that are close to you to reduce driving.
Do I need insurance?
We hire you as an employee (not a subcontractor) and include WCB and insurance in case something goes wrong on the job.
Do I need to be an expert cleaner?
We’ll train you. We’ve got a unique and effective process that anyone can learn. It takes a bit of time and willingness to think about cleaning differently than you might have before.
